New in GEMstudio Pro Version 3.6.1.0
Creating GUIs just got easier! Since the last official release of GEMstudio Pro version 3.4.0.2, we have added many customer requested features, some major enhancements and a list of bug fixes. For more details on these updates, see the change log under the help menu in GEMstudio.
So… what’s updated in GEMstudio Pro 3.6.1.0?
1. The Main Menu has a revamped, modern look:
One of the most apparent changes we’ve made is the look and feel of the main menu. A tutorials button has been added for quick access to GEMstudio Pro tutorials.
2. A New Timer Widget
An easy to use graphical based timer widget has been added to replace the need for the timer objects in the Meta-Refresh statements. In the past, in order to execute a timer based functions a Meta-Refresh statement was required to be written out, similar to the one below:
<META HTTP-EQUIV=”REFRESH” CONTENT=”updateRate, delayRate;URL=Page_3.open()”>
This type of statement has now been replaced with the Timer widget. To see an example of the usage of the Timer widget, see the 800×480 demo, which is included with GEMstudio Pro.
2. Create custom rectangles with the Rectangle Widget
Rather than having to import an image to create every graphical element, we added the ability to create and configure a rendered rectangle. This widget makes it simple to easily change the colors, opacity, and corner radius of your shape.
4. Ability to change the opacity of any object at compile and run time.
Add the parameter to the widget to see a preview in GEMstudio layout. Use Amulet:document.widgetName.setOpacity(x), where x is from 0-255, to change the value during operation. An opacity of 0 is fully transparent and 255 is fully opaque.
5. Image rotation
Another update we added in this version of GEMstudio Pro is is the ability to rotate images. All images now have the following properties:
6. Increased Memory
Within the high performance family of Amulet modules there’s now the ability to extend the internalRAM variables beyond the 256 memory locations. Within the Project Properties page, you have the option to set the amount of memory you want allocated to the internalRAM variables up to 215 = 32768.
