The New AM070RVS01: Wifi Connectivity, Bluetooth, and More!

One way Amulet is working to transform “Everyday Things Into Amazing Experiences” is through our freshly enhanced 7” high performance capacitive display, which now features built in WiFi connectivity. The added WiFi module on the AM070RVS01 opens up numerous possibilities for those seeking to craft IoT products while keep user experience in mind.
To illustrate, we created the Neon Slots demo, which is pre-programmed onto the AM070RVS01. This demo uses a local WiFi router to connect an Amulet display to a personal smartphone. Users are able to effortlessly control the display with their smartphone for a “touch-free” experience playing slots.
Hybrid Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Chip
Besides the main graphics controller, the Amulet AM070RVS01 features a separate MCU controller capable of supporting hybrid 802.11b/g/n WiFi and dual mode Bluetooth: Bluetooth v4.2 (Classic) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BE).
The ESP-32 MCU module features a dual-core 32-bit microprocessor running up to 240MHz with 8MB flash storage, 520KB SRAM for data and instruction, and 448KB ROM for boot and core functions. The module is equipped with a U.FL connector allowing for an external IPEX MHF antenna to be connected, providing optimal antenna placement for enhanced signal strength.
The ESP-32 can also easily be programmed using the standard Arduino IDE and is compatible with many existing Arduino Wifi and Bluetooth libraries.
