Overview

Precision UI Systems for High-Performance Instruments

Amulet Technologies provides a complete hardware and software system that decouples your instrument’s data visualization from its core measurement logic. By using an Interactive Digital Display Module with integrated computing and memory, you offload the entire UI burden—including frame buffer management and 60Hz refreshing—from your main signal processor. This architecture ensures that your measurements remain precise and jitter-free while the user interface stays fluid and responsive.

Challenges in T&M Interface Design

Test and measurement equipment designers face distinct technical hurdles:

Processor Contention

High-speed data acquisition requires 100% of your processor’s attention. Forcing the same processor to manage a high-resolution display results in lag, UI stutter, and potential measurement inaccuracies.

Complex Data Visualization

Displaying large volumes of real-time data, waveforms, and graphs is difficult to code manually and can strain system resources.

Operator Error Risks

In professional environments, a confusing or slow interface can lead to misinterpretations and costly testing errors.

Long Development Cycles

Iterating on complex interfaces and low-level graphics drivers often delays market readiness and consumes engineering bandwidth.

Solutions

Amulet turns these technical challenges into competitive advantages:

01

Dedicated UI Processing

Our Interactive Digital Display Modules handle all graphics and touch logic locally. Your host sends raw data values via a simple serial protocol, with no display-refresh overhead.
02

Clarity-Driven Data Display

Use GEMstudio™ to build professional, high-fidelity layouts that turn complex measurements into clear, actionable insights without writing graphics code.
03

Real-Time Responsiveness

Because the display has its own dedicated processor, waveforms and readouts update instantly at 60Hz, ensuring the operator sees data in real time.
04

Seamless System Integration

Our Interactive Digital Display Modules are designed to “drop in” to existing hardware, modernizing legacy instruments with minimal changes to your proven measurement firmware.
05

Accelerated Prototyping

Simulate and test your instrument’s control flow on a PC before building hardware, cutting months off your development timeline.

FAQs

Q: Can Amulet handle high-volume, real-time data sets?
A: Absolutely. Our Interactive Digital Display Modules are optimized for real-time visualization. By offloading the graphics to our Interactive Digital Display Module, your system can display complex data without lag or measurement interference.
A: Your host sends high-level data points via a low-bandwidth serial protocol (UART, USB, etc.). The Amulet Interactive Digital Display Module handles the “drawing” of graphs, fonts, and buttons internally, eliminating the need for the host to provide high-bandwidth digital video interfaces such as LVDS, MIPI, or 24-bit RGB-TTL.
A: Yes. Amulet is designed to be a modular front-end. You can modernize a legacy instrument by simply adding a serial interface to your current measurement engine.
