FAQs
Q: How do I program my DataFlash?
Q: How do I write java applets to the Amulet Monochrome Module?
How do you synchronize sound with a color GUI?
How much data can I store in the DataFlash?
A: The 4.3″ Resistive module ships with 32-Megabit Serial Flash for storing μHTML™ GUI pages and images. About 260-Kbytes is reserved for Amulet Firmware. The 7″ Resistive module and the GEMexpress II ships with 64-Megabit Serial Flash.
The 5.7″ Monochrome AOB modules ships with a 8-Megabit or 1-Megabyte of DataFlash. 64-Kbytes is reserved for Amulet firmware.
This is enough space to store hundreds of µHTML™ pages into the DataFlash. Color images can eat up a lot of
How much SDRAM or flash is needed for your color GUI (minimum)?
A: We recommend at least 64Mbit for 480×272 pixel displays and 256Mbit for 800×480 displays, though less may be needed when using 8-bit color. To determine your own requirements, GEMstudio generates a file that shows the SDRAM and Flash usage for each widget and page of your design. The file is located in the same directory as your project. The file has the same name as your project with a .map extension.
What is the estimated Power Consumption in PQFP GEM Graphical OS Color Chip?
A: The estimated power consumption of the pqfp packaged GEM Graphical OS Chip is about 80mA – 100mA depending on the display.
What is the maximum resolution for the color chip?
A: Maximum resolution of the current color chip is 800×600 (or 600×800) for standard sized screens.
